Oxford United Women kick of their FAWNL Southern Premier Division campaign with a trip to MK Dons Women on Sunday 20th August.
Kick off has been moved back to 3:30PM to accommodate for the Lionesses groundbreaking FIFA Women’s World Cup Final earlier in the day.
Tickets can be bought online HERE for just £1, or on the gate on the day.
The U’s go into the game following the departure of long serving Manager Liam Gilbert, with George Anthony and Matt Parry stepping up in the interim.
George told us
“MK Dons are a good outfit that gave us two good games last year, it’s the season opener so everyone’s raring to go and that’s the same thing for us.
“I’ve worked with Liam (Gilbert) and in the setup for a long time so the continuity within the situation we’ve got is important. It’s business as normal as far as we are concerned and as far as the players are concerned.
“Liam was a great mentor and friend and we wish him all the best, but I think that helps us to continue what we’ve been building here.
“The squad have reacted really well and I think they’re just ready to go and play, and they’ve demonstrated that in training all week.
