London Road Coach Travel
The aim has always been to offer affordable transport to all Oxford United 'on the road' league and cup games.
The best available coaches, usually Executive style, are used, and depart from the bus stop at the front of the Kassam Stadium.
Depending on the route they pick up from the following locations
Redbridge Park & Ride lorry & coach park, which is behind the Travel Lodge, parking fees apply at Redbridge (£2.50 for up to 16 hours as of July 2024) and must be paid within 10 minutes of arrival. There are normally plenty of parking spaces close to the lorry & coach park and payment machines are located close to a pedestrian walkway through the barrier near the rear of the travel lodge. There is also a bike rack here should you wish to cycle.
Kidlington from the bus stop on the Bicester Road near Sainsbury’s
Thornhill Park & Ride from bus stop E on London Road, London bound. There is an underpass from just to the side of the entrance to the park & ride next to the bike racks. Bus stop E is a 5-minute walk from the main terminal building where parking payment machines are situated. As mentioned above parking fees apply (£2.50 for up to 16 hours)
Since the introduction of Parking Eye at the Kassam Stadium, supporters travelling to away games are no longer permitted to park in the stadium/leisure park car park. Free parking is available along the length of Grenoble Road, but supporters are advised to allow plenty of time to park and get to the bus stop bearing in mind those spaces nearest to the Stadium will fill up first.
Full details of departure times, pick-up places, and prices appear in the matchday programme and on the Oxford United website normally a month in advance. Supporters need to advise where they are getting on at the time of booking.
To keep prices competitive the stewards of the coaches are fellow fans and volunteers.
To re-join/join the London Road Club or to enquire about or book transport to away games call in at the ticket office, call 01865 337 533 during normal office hours. Membership and coach tickets are also available from the ticket section on the website.
For the safety and comfort of supporters, all those travelling are asked to abide by the rules which are:
- Under-14s must be accompanied by a responsible adult to travel on LRC transport.
- No alcohol is permitted on the coaches.
- The London Road Club asks all supporters to have respect for their fellow passengers and will not tolerate any misbehaviour.
Occasionally a supporter is unable to locate their coach at the end of the match or decides to travel home with friends. To depart in good time after the final whistle we endeavour to take the names and contact details of each person travelling at the time of booking. In addition, we have an emergency away matchday phone number printed on coach tickets that coach travellers should use to advise if they are not returning by coach.
