Oxford United enjoyed a successful Business Networking Event last night in the centre of Oxford with guests from local businesses coming together to enjoy an evening with panel members.
Hosted at Metro Bank in Oxford, Ann-Marie Robinson and Sheila Lord from BMR Health and Wellbeing were joined by U’s Head Coach Karl Robinson, Gavin Jones from Planet IT and Nick Babington from Health Assured, discussing a range of topics around Mental Health and wellbeing in the workplace.
The panel talked through how to implement a positive culture in the workplace for employees, the mental health training available to employers and how to spot when someone may be struggling or suffering from mental health issues.
Karl also gave insight into how the U’s look after players’ wellbeing generally and how they adapted during the pandemic.
Tom Lankester and Sarah Firth from Oxford Health also gave a short presentation on the work they do for mental health patients in Oxford, and about the new mental health unit that is being built at the Warneford Hospital, and how businesses in Oxfordshire can support with awareness and fundraising to make this residence as comfortable for young people as possible.
Business Development Manager Peter Rhoades-Brown told us:
“It was another great evening seeing many local businesses come together to talk about such an important subject in mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. We would like to thank everyone on the panel for their input, Metro Bank for hosting us and providing food and drink and to all of our guests who joined us for their continued support.”
