Oxford United are pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Taylor as our new Head of Club Operations.
Andrew is a lifelong Oxford fan who has most recently been working as the Centre Manager at Whitelands Farm Sports Ground in Bicester but he now joins the U’s as we start to prepare for an exciting new season.
“It’s always been my ambition to work for the club” he told us. “I started watching games with my father at the Manor in the mid-eighties so this is my club and to be asked to help is a huge honour. My main role will be to oversee what happens throughout the stadium on a matchday.
“Towards the end of the season I sat in on a few of the pre and post match meetings which all of the heads of department are involved in and the level of detail and planning is huge: everything from Boardroom and Community to media, ticketing, safety and retail. I will be working with the team and the stadium company to make the matchday experience that little bit smoother for everyone, including the fans, and also looking at everything from safeguarding through to commercial operations
“I want to thank the staff for making me feel so welcome and I look forward to what I believe will be a fantastic new challenge for me.”
Niall McWilliams said
“We listened to what fans and visitors have been saying and while everyone loves coming to games we recognised that we can improve things and build on the unbelievable work that people have been doing behind the scenes for many years. Andy knows the history of the club, he knows the standards we aspire to and he has a wealth of experience which we feel will be really helpful. Because of his work at Whitelands he already knows many of the staff and he has settled in straight away. We look forward to working with him and plans are well under way now for the new season, on and off the pitch.”
