Oxford United are looking at all their options for next season with behind closed doors trials held today for the under 23 squad which will be in place next season.
40 players were invited to come and play in a series of games under the watchful eye of United's management and coaching team with Dan Harris Head of Academy telling us:
"It is a useful way for us to widen the net and take a look at a number of players who have maybe impressed us on trial already, have done well at other exit trials or have a quality CV that almost demands that we see what they can do.
" Obviously we can't take everyone on and It's never easy to catch the eye in trial games but these are talented young footballers and we are always looking to add to what we believe is already an exciting development programme here.
"The aim remains the same, whether it'sthe young players already at the club or in the trial games today; is there someone there who has the ability, desire and attitude to progress all the way through to the first team?"
