Oxford United are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Simon Eastwood has committed his future to the U’s by agreeing a new three-year-deal.
Simon, 28, has not missed a league game for the U’s since signing from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2016 and was excited to put pen to paper this afternoon:
“It’s actually the third time I’ve signed for Oxford” he told us, having previously joined the U’s as a youngster back in 2010 before playing for Halifax Town and Portsmouth ahead of joining Blackburn.
“It’s a club I think is heading in the right direction again and the new manager has come in and got everyone excited about the future. The fans are great, my family are settled here and it was an easy decision to make.”
Karl Robinson was just as pleased to have completed the signing of his number one target:
“For me he’s the best keeper in the division. I knew he was good before I came here but I actually think there is more to come from him as well.
“Obviously we are delighted to get it all sorted so early in the summer and we will continue to work hard to bring in more quality players to join Simon in the team next season.”
