Two strikers arrive on loan as Junior and Freddie join Mansfield and Farnborough
It has been a busy day at Oxford United with the loan window closing at 5pm.Coming into the club are striker John Campbell from Jarrow Roofing, who joins until the end of the season, and Bristol City forward Wes Burns who has joined the U’s on a Youth Loan until the end of the season.
The club also loaned two players out shortly before the 5pm deadline.
Junior Brown has joined Mansfield Town on loan until January. The former Fleetwood forward has found his chances limited in recent weeks, and Head Coach Michael Appleton believes the loan will help all concerned:
“Junior is a good pro and at this stage in his career wants to be playing regular football. That hasn’t been happening here so a chance to play matches up at Mansfield will hopefully give him a chance to show what he can do.”
Meanwhile young defender Freddie Grant has joined Farnborough on a work experience deal. The youth team left-back did very well on loan at Margate earlier in the season and will now step up to play Conference South football at Farnborough, although he will still be available for United’s FA Youth Cup third round tie away at Manchester City.
