Oxford United Sign Wes Burns on Loan from Bristol City

Striker adds to attacking options at the Kassam Stadium

Oxford United have completed the signing of Bristol City forward Wes Burns on a youth loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Welsh under 21 international is a pacy forward who can play through the middle or out wide. Having come through the youth system at City he signed professional at 18 and has scored twice for the first team this season after spending time on loan at Forest Green Rovers last season.

Head Coach Michael Appleton is pleased to have further added to his attacking options:

“We have been chasing Wes for a long time and it is great to get him in to the squad. He is fast, he has bags of energy and he works very hard for the team. He has an eye for goal and a great attitude and I am sure he is going to be a really good addition,

“Will Hoskins is still a few weeks away from playing and James Roberts is out for the next three or four weeks so we needed to strengthen up front and the fact that Wes can play in two or three positions across the front line is a massive bonus for us.”
