Oxford United Women are delighted to welcome back to the club defender Evie Gane who has joined the club from Aston Villa.
The versatile 18-year-old, who previously had a spell with United during the 2017 Summer Series campaign joined Aston Villa in the summer from Women's Super League side Reading.
A Welsh international at U17 and U19, Evie has seven caps and Manager Liam Gilbert believes she will be a major asset for the U's this season.
"Evie is a really good player with a huge amount of potential. She’s a really exciting addition for us and we're delighted to be able to bring a player like her back to the club. I think it says a lot about the way we are doing things that she sees Oxford as a place she wants to come to and play her football at right now in her career."
"She gives us more options, she's a versatile player who can play anywhere down the side of the pitch and is a player who likes to get forward and get involved in the game. She has a great attitude and we believe is an outstanding prospect now and for the future."
For Evie being back at United gives her a chance to settle and get back to playing her best football:
"I'm really looking forward to getting going. I'm excited to work with Liam again. I think he's a coach who knows how to get the best out of me. To grow and develop as a player and to help the club win things, that's why I'm here. It's a good group and I think it's an exciting group so I can't wait to be back with them."
