Tyler Goodrham Extends Oxford United Contract

Oxford United are delighted to announce a new long-term contract for Tyler Goodrham.

Tyler has quickly established himself as a key part of the Men’s First Team squad, playing in almost 100 games in United yellow, with 51 of those appearances coming in last season’s promotion campaign.

Joining the club as a 14-year-old, Tyler has developed through the club’s Youth Academy and made his debut in 2019.

Now 20, Tyler has gone from strength to strength, contributing 10 goals and five assists across all competitions last season as he continued to develop across a number of positions in attack and midfield.

Speaking to the club after putting pen to paper, he said: “This means so much to me and I’m absolutely buzzing to sign this contract.

“Last season was so special to achieve success with this group and these fans, and I want to continue to go out there every week and fight to do more.

“This was a no-brainer for me as we know where the club is going, and I aspire to help Oxford reach their ambitions in this division.”

Head Coach, Des Buckingham, said: “Tyler is such a positive person and player, and it is fantastic that he has signed a new contract.

“He had his breakout season last year and contributed extremely well to our attacking style of play while also being able to demonstrate his all-round ability on the biggest stage.

"We can all see Tyler's qualities as a player, but he has also shown a real maturity in his football understanding as he has been asked to take on new roles with the team.

"He has adapted to a new position extremely well and to have somebody of his abilities at his age is an exciting prospect for us to now continue working with.”

Head of Football Operations, Ed Waldron, said: “Everyone at the football club is delighted with how Tyler has progressed since joining as a scholar.

“Every year, Tyler has continued to improve as a player and person, and he is now an important figure on the pitch and in our Training Ground.

“We fully believe that Tyler will only get better in his years here at Oxford and we are really pleased to know he is committing his future to the club.”
