Oxford United Under-18s earned their 13th league win in a row after defeating Exeter City 4-0.

A ruthless first-half performance, including a hat-trick from Jack Lee, gave the U’s another comfortable three points and a clean sheet at home.

It was a strong start from the Yellows, with Mubarak Abolade forcing an early important save from the Exeter shot stopper.

Lee scored an early opener, making it 1-0 just 15 minutes in. A beautiful delivery from Jameson Blackmore found Lee at the back post to head home.

The number nine got his second on the 30-minute mark. A threatening cross from Harrison Bradney’s corner fell to Lee at the back post and once again he finished his chance into an empty net.

Lee made it an outstanding half for himself, grabbing a first half hat-trick in just 36 minutes. Another well executed corner routine from Bradney was met with a bullet header from Lee, giving the keeper no chance and making it 3-0.

Missanga then rounded a perfect half for United, making it four in 45 minutes. Griffiths played a clever ball over the top to send Missanga through and he finished the chance beautifully from a tough angle.

The beginning of the second half continued in the same vein, with the U’s creating chance after chance. However, they were unable to find a fifth. Charlie Cramond was then forced to make a crucial block to keep the clean sheet intact.

A few changes were then made to rest a couple of players for the crucial cup game this week, which took a bit of the energy out of the game.

The win keeps Oxford United in the hunt for the league title, with a cup tie now to focus upon on Tuesday.

United: Patel, Palmer-Flynn, Blackmore, Gardner, Cramond(Collins 67), Doyle (Griffith 80), Abolade, Bradney, Lee (Snowden 52), Griffiths (Dourish 76), Missanga (Holton 63)
