It’s the A420 derby for Young U’s this weekend as they kickstart their Youth Alliance Cup campaign.
Oxford United U18s welcome Swindon Town to the Bangkok Glass Training Centre this Saturday as they look to get things back on track after a heavy defeat last weekend.
The Yellows will be looking to repeat last season's result against Swindon when they took all three points in a convincing 4-1 victory over the Robins. However, they come into the contest on the back of a tough defeat last weekend, losing 5-0 against AFC Wimbledon.
With a mixed start in the league, the U’s will be looking to start the group stage of the cup on the front foot. They start their campaign with the Swindon game, before playing Cheltenham Town, Forest Green Rovers, and finally Walsall to wrap up the group. The side will also receive a boost for the big game, with Louis Griffiths returning from international duty; Louis scored last season’s academy goal of the season against the Robins.
The visitors come into the game yet to win in the league, with two points from their first four games. However, they have already got their cup campaign underway with a comfortable 3-0 win at home against Walsall.
Kick off will be at 11:00 am and should be one which you won’t want to miss.
