Oxford United are back in league action this weekend as we return to the Kassam to face Stoke City in the Championship.
It's been a solid start to the season, with two wins out of the opening four games, and following the international break, Des Buckingham is looking forward to getting back in front of the home supporters.
The break has been a successful one for a number of players away on duty with their countries, and for those here in Oxford as they took a few days to rest and recover, while getting back for some vital minutes on the training pitch.
Ahead of the game with Stoke, a club that Des Buckingham previously worked at, he spoke to OUTV about the break, the start of the season, and much more.
He said: "It was a good break and it's been a pleasing start to the season, but we know that's all it is.
"It was great for those that went away to represent their country and for those here, it gave us a chance to work on a few things that we maybe didn't have the chance to do.
"I know first-hand from working at Stoke the quality that they have in their infrastructure and the squad they are building with their new manager.
"If we can show what we've done in those first four games and with the backing of the home support, we'll put ourselves in the best position to come away with the result."
