Oxford United Women are delighted to announce a new relationship with existing partner Her Game Too.
This official partnership formalises what is an already strong relationship, with both Oxford United Women and Her Game Too currently working together to create an inclusive environment for all in football.
Her Game Too is an organisation set up to eradicate fear of discrimination or harassment in football, and recently hosted a Q&A alongside the Club at our Training Ground for female supporters with the recently departed Head of Medical, Amy Cranston.
Founded in 2021 by 12 female fan fans, the organisation is passionate about eradicating sexism in the football industry so girls and women can feel confident about sharing their opinions.
Through this relationship, Oxford United Women will continue to dedicate home fixtures to Her Game Too campaigns this season to help drive this message, while players and staff will continue to support the organisation’s events.
Oxford United Women General Manager, Gemma Sims, said: “We have been supporting this fantastic campaign now for a number of years, so it’s great to make this an official partnership.
“We try very hard to make the environment here safe and welcoming for everyone to enjoy football, so we are looking forward to working with the team at Her Game Too to find ways to keep improving this.
“Unfortunately, sexism still occurs in all sports, so the more we can work together to eliminate this then the better experiences women and girls will have, and the more comfortable they will feel to either support or take part in football, or in any sport”.
Oxford United’s Her Game Too ambassador, Grace Bailey, said: “To have the Women’s Team partnered with Her Game Too is incredible, especially as they have already been working closely on this campaign.
“I’m very proud of the work they have done, having already dedicated two of their fixtures to the campaign.
“Players and staff have been attending events we have hosted to show their support and I can’t wait to see what we can all do together now with this partnership agreed.
“Football is for all, from working to playing to watching, so to have both teams partnered is showing that Oxford United is United and behind this campaign”.
