Oxford United in the Community has broadened its holiday camp provision by operating a bumper six camps in three locations ā and sports-mad youngsters are invited to join the fun!
The charity will run an extended Girls Only camp at The Oxford Academy during the two-week Easter break with mixed sessions also programmed at Easington Sports FC in Banbury and new venue Kidlington Youth FC.
The move will support additional playing, training and social opportunities for young football enthusiasts, with all proceeds committed towards supporting Oxford United in the Communityās core vision to inspire happier, healthier and better-connected communities via its programmes.
All sessions will teach new football skills and techniques while focusing on the development of agility, balance, coordination and teamwork and are suitable for players of all abilities aged five to 13.
The first camps will launch on Tuesday, April 2, and run until Friday, April 12 with activities taking place between 9am and 3pm.
Rob Porter, Lead Community Coach at Oxford United in the Community, said: āWeāre really pleased to expand our holiday camp provision and get more youngsters active across Oxfordshire during the holidays.
āThis move has been made possible thanks to the successes of our existing camps at The Oxford Academy and Easington Sports FC, with sessions regularly selling out and providing a healthy, active and social day for those who attend.
"We're committed to increasing female participation opportunities, and it's thanks to the growth and record breaking attendance during the recent half-term that we are able to expand our girls only camp to two weeks. In addition, our launch in Kidlington is the beginning of our expansion into other areas of Oxfordshire, with more growth planned in the summer.
āBecause spaces are limited, we would advise parents to book online in advance. Weāve had a great response to sessions so far and look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeksā time.ā
All the coaches are FA qualified and have up to date safeguarding, first aid training and CRC checks. Children need to bring their own football kit, including shin-pads, boots, trainers, plus lunch and drinks.
