Oxford United Women look to make it five wins on the bounce in the league this weekend as they travel to Chatham Town this Sunday.
Sam Rose’s team will be hoping to continue their strong run of form as they make the 220-mile round trip to 11th placed Chatham Town, following their hard-fought victory last time out against Ipswich Town, a game which saw both teams down to ten players and a first goal in yellow for Vitaliia Budaieva.
Away from home, the U’s have had a mixed bag of results on the road this season, winning and losing twice with a single draw to make up the five fixtures the women have played away from Court Place Farm. However, last weekend's result will inspire Rose’s side to take momentum with them down to Kent for their 2:30 pm kick-off, a fixture from which the Manager expects his side to bring home the three points back to Oxfordshire.
“Sunday was a fantastic result and it really showed to both me and the girls what we’re capable of when we work as a unit. I’m not expecting the game this weekend to be any different. They’ll be tough to break down, but we know we have the ability and mindset to get the job done.”
Three points on Saturday will be crucial for the women, who can reduce the gap on Rugby Borough, thanks to the U’s having two games in hand on the Warwickshire outfit.
Meanwhile, the hosts are still looking for their first win of the season. An enthralling 3-3 draw with Plymouth Argyle in their most recent fixture will give Chatham Town some confidence that they can pose a threat to the Yellows’ fantastic form going into Sunday’s match.
Tickets for the game are still on sale for general admission. Adult tickets will be available for £5, while under 16s cost just £2. If you are unable to attend, you can follow our live updates via our X account.
