Oxford United U18s look to close the gap at the top as they welcome Pompey to the Bangkok Glass Training Ground this Saturday (11am).
The U’s find themselves four points off Leyton Orient at the top who are the only side who have gone unbeaten in the league so far. Whilst the young U’s have a game in hand over the O's, they will look to build on the result against Sutton and take the momentum into Pompey this weekend.
The young U’s will look to remain unbeaten against Pompey this season after a 2-2 draw and a successful 1-0 away win earlier this year. United come into the game with the better form of the two, losing just one in the last four, whilst Pompey come into the game on the back of a 6-1 thumping by Swindon Town.
Coach Pablo Haysham said:
“It was an important three points last week against Sutton, to get us right back fighting at the top of the table.
"This week coming up is a busy one, three games in the next seven days, but it's important that we keep our focus and that we make sure that we close the gap at the top. Pompey is never an easy game, but I’m confident that the boys will get a result this weekend”.
