Oxford United are delighted to announce that captain Elliott Moore has signed a new long-term deal with the U’s.
Elliott has made over 150 appearances for the club since joining from Leicester in 2019 and told www.oufc.co.uk that pledging his future to the club was a straightforward decision.
“I’m pleased to have got it signed and with a young family it is great to have that little bit of extra security for the future. But it was a really easy decision to make because this is where I want to be playing my football and I am really enjoying it. It feels like the whole club is heading in the right direction and I want to be part of that.”
Head Coach Liam Manning said
“Like all good defenders Elliott senses danger and reads the game so well. He rarely gets beaten in the air but he is comfortable on the ball as well and that is important in the modern game. He is the captain, the leader, and has the total respect of everyone in the dressing room. At 26 he has his best years ahead of him and we are pleased that he will be doing that with Oxford United.”
Ed Waldron, Head of Recruitment, added
“I actually think Elliott has got better with each season he has spent here. He is strong, physically and mentally, and fits in really well with the way we want to play. It’s another good thing for us to be planning ahead, knowing that Elliott, Jordan Thorniley and Stephan Negru have all agreed long-term deals this summer and defensively that gives us a great platform to build from.”
