Oxford United's Under 18s enter the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday evening when they take on Bridgwater United.
The first round tie will be played at Oxford City’s Court Place Farm on Wednesday with kick off at 7PM.
The Academy had their best ever run in the FA Youth Cup last season, reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in club history before being knocked out by Manchester City. Winger Aidan Elliott-Wheeler told iFollow
"Everyone remembers that game at Manchester City, or beating Cardiff and Leeds to get there, but there were two really hard games at Court Place Farm to get to that stage. We beat Torquay and then had a close game against Horndean where we needed two late goals to get through.
"It's a fantastic competition and we know that Bridgwater will come to Oxford looking to cause an upset. We will have to guard against that, obviously, and it's going to be a proper cup tie where we are going to have to play at our best to get through.
"For me, as a second-year, it's all about focussing but also helping the younger players for a game we are all really looking forward to."
There's always entertainment in the FA Youth Cup.
Tickets are just £6 for Adults and £3 for Over 65/U18
