Oxford United Women progressed to the Third Round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Dartford FC Women.
Zoe Barratt scored twice in the second half after the tier 5 side put up a valiant fight to prevent the U’s from running away with it.
Skipper Leah Burridge told OUFC.co.uk after the game
“I think that we remained professional throughout the whole 90 minutes. It's always difficult to try and break down a team who put ten players behind the ball, but second half we proved that we were fitter, we were the better team and we deserved to go through.
“I think that as a team we believed we knew we could get a goal and the next one would then come. It was just about being patient on the ball and staying calm because they were difficult to break down.
“We knew it was going to be a very physical test. It was a bit feisty at times out there, but that was expected and to be honest we dominated possession and it's just all about playing our style of football the way that we wanted to play and not drop to that standard as well.
“The most important thing is to get in to the next round and hopefully get another home tie here. Everyone's buzzing now for the next round.
The tie will be played on Sunday 10th of November with the draw scheduled for 3PM this afternoon (27th November).
