Oxford United Women had a successful evening at the FAWNL Awards Evening on Saturday, winning three awards.
Striker Carly Johns shared the Southern Premier Division Golden Boot with MK Dons Women’s’ Mollie Coupar, having both scored 15 goals across the season.
Development keeper Caitlin Crierie also picked up the Golden Glove for the Reserve South East and Central Division, for keeping the most clean sheets in the League.
The U’s success was rounded off by Development Squad Manager George Anthony being awarded the Reserve Manager of the Year after he guided his side to an incredible League and Cup Double.
Anthony told us
“It’s a real honour to win this award but I really owe so much of the credit to the hard work and dedication of the players and staff that I’ve had the pleasure of working with all year long.
“It’s only our third season together as a club so I’m really proud of how far we’ve come together and what we’ve achieved this year. We set out with big goals and we’ve exceeded them.
“The culture at the club is fantastic and I think a big reason why we’ve been so successful this year is how close we work with the first team, in training and socially, as it provides a pathway for the young players but also an environment where you can learn week in week out.
“It’s been a great year for myself and the team and we’re looking to replicate that success next season.
