Oxford United can confirm that several players will be leaving the club this summer.
Matty Taylor, Djavan Anderson and Jodi Jones have all been told that they will not be offered new deals when their current contracts run out in June, as have youngsters Slavi Spasov, Kie Plumley, Ben Davis, Yoav Sade and Will Owens.
Loan players Brandon Fleming, Tyler Smith and Kyle Joseph have returned to their parent clubs, along with Lewis Bate and Ateef Konate, who had previously done so.
Head Coach Liam Manning told us:
“We held one-to-one meetings on Monday; these things are never easy and I believe should be face to face when possible.
“Obviously Matty Taylor is a club legend and has been here in two spells since he was just a kid, so I am sure the fans will join us in thanking him for everything he has done for the club. The other players are also good people who we wish well for the future.
“We have also told Alex Gorrin that he can continue his rehab from his long-term injury with us into pre-season and we will see how that works out for the best for both the player and the club.
“With all of the players, they know what we expect, they know the standards we have and they know that the fans deserve a much better season next time around. We will spend the summer adding new faces and building a squad that we believe will be far more competitive next season.”
