Oxford United Women travel to Watford FC Women this Sunday, the 19th of March for a massive game at the top of the Southern Premier Division.
Kick off is at 2PM at Grosvenor Vale. Tickets are priced at £5 for Adults and £3 for over 65s and under 16s, and can be purchased online HERE
The U’s look to strengthen their position at the summit of the table, whilst Watford will be hoping to close the gap on the Yellows to four points.
In the reverse fixture, Leah Burridge rose highest to head home an equaliser in the final minutes of added time, earning a point for the U’s at the death
United have been in fine form in front of goal, scoring fifteen in the last three games, but have failed to keep a clean sheet in the League since early January.
Manager Liam Gilbert told us
“We are all really looking forward to this game, these are the moments we want to be involved in as footballers and as coaching staff.
“We have to give full credit to the group for the way they’ve performed in the last four games, but even more so for how they’ve trained and applied themselves behind closed doors. That mentality has served us so well and we’re going to need it against Watford on Sunday.
“Everyone knows their quality and we know what we’ll have to do to get three points at their place. We need to be better against them than we were at home. It should be a fantastic game of football and if we can get a result it’ll only add to the momentum and atmosphere that has been building.
“This group are hungry. Their desire is spot on and if we take that into Watford we give ourselves a really good chance. Every game is massive from now and we can’t wait to go again.”
The Hornets come into the game after putting six unanswered past Crawley Wasps in midweek, and sit in fourth place, seven points and a game in hand off United.
Come along and help the U’s try to take three points on the road.
