Oxford United would like to thank everyone who made Saturday’s Family Away Day to Lincoln such a success.
A special ‘Family Away Day’ coach, having been waved off at the Kassam Stadium by Olly the Ox, took fans to the LNER Stadium with games and activities on the coach for the journey and ‘Golden Tickets’ which meant one young fan watched the warm up from the dugout while another, Ellie Freeman, was invited onto the pitch to read out the team news, drawing a massive cheer from the away fans.
Andy Taylor, the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer, told us:
“It was a great day and I want to thank Lincoln for being such great hosts. They really looked after us and everyone had a great time. Danny and Michael, who help welcome fans at home games, were great hosts on the bus and then it was nice to see the players come over and say hello before kick-off.
“The result didn’t go to plan but it was a day that allowed our younger fans to have a great day out and hopefully they will all be back on Saturday when we take on Derby at home.”
