Oxford United in the Community has a bumper summer of holiday camp delivery planned for sports-mad youngsters from July ā and spaces are available to book now.
The football clubās official charity will return to The Oxford Academy in Littlemore and Easington Sports FC in Banbury during the six-week break. Sessions will be packed with fun, engaging and inclusive activities suitable to players of all abilities aged four to 13.
New to this yearās summer programme is the introduction of three camps open to female participants only. It follows a successful pilot programme during the recent half-term break where dozens of girls learnt new football skills and techniques while developing connections with likeminded youngsters.
The girls only camp will operate at The Oxford Academy alongside the charityās existing mixed programmes. Rob Porter, Lead Community Coach at Oxford United in the Community, hopes to welcome plenty of familiar ā and new ā faces back pitch side.
āSummer holiday football camps have been at the heart of our delivery for over 30 years,ā said Rob. āThis year promises to be bigger, and better, than before as our provision expands to accommodate mixed and female only camps in response to the rise in popularity of the womenās game nationally.
āSessions are tailored specifically to accommodate all abilities and ages with our primary focus on providing a fun, active, enjoyable and safe programme of activities which promote teamwork, communication and problem solving.
āSpaces are already being booked up, so we would encourage parents wishing to book either a session or full week to do so now before itās too late!ā
