Oxford United Women are delighted to announce the signing of Phoebe Williams.
The talented young midfielder arrives from Barclay’s Women’s Championship side Southampton FC Women.
Williams was pivotal in winning the National League Southern Premier Division title and League Cup double with the Saints in the 2021/22 season, making 34 appearances in the middle of the park to get promoted to the second tier.
The 22-year-old box-to-box midfielder has been involved with the squad as they started pre-season last week.
“Phoebe is an excellent player who will add stability and experience to the midfield. She’s proven that she is a winner at this level on the field, but she’s also a brilliant character off it and we’re over the moon to have her involved”, Manager Liam Gilbert told OUFC.co.uk
Phoebe told OUFC.co.uk “I know how good Oxford are as a club having played many difficult games against them in the past. Coming in you can feel the energy and ambition around the place and I can’t wait to get started and use my experience to try to help this club fight for promotion.”
