Oxford United Academy’s Louis Griffiths has been called up to Wales U17s squad for the Syrenka Cup.
Louis, a winger for the U16s, will be playing up a year during the tournament in Poland.
The Welsh side will open the tournament against the hosts Poland on Sunday 20 August in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, before facing Romania on Tuesday 22 August and Georgia on Thursday 24 August, both taking place in Warsaw.
Academy Manager Stevie Kinniburgh said
“Louis has had a great start to the season, training with the First Team at moments and getting his head down to continue his hard work.
“He’s a real talent and embodies our values on and off the pitch, so we’re really excited to see how he develops and opportunities like this are fantastic for young players.
“We’ll watch how he does and would like to wish him and his family a big congratulations on the news.
