There was a nice landmark for Marcus Browne this week when he made his 100th appearance for the U’s.
Marcus played his 100th game, over three different spells, in the 1-1 draw against Portsmouth on Turesday night and was pleased to joins Oxford’s 100 Club.
“I was thinking my 100th game for Oxford has got to be coming up soon” he told us. “I’ve been here three times, so I’ve got to have racked up the 100 sooner or later! The 100 games is a good milestone for me. I’ve had it rough with long-term injuries, so it’s not been easy. I’m sure I’d have played a lot more games if I hadn’t been injured, but hopefully that’s all behind me now. I feel physically in a good place and I’ve played more games this season than I have the last four years.
“It’s been very eventful; I remember the first time I came here, not knowing what to expect and the club grew on me immediately, and that’s why I’ve come back three times. I’m happy that I’m now an Oxford player and I’ve permanently signed and I can call this place my home.
“Like I said, it’s been eventful, but it’s been very good. The players I’ve come across and played with, and seeing some of the boys going on to where they’ve gone to and achieving what they’ve achieved has been brilliant.
“And the boys that are here now that I can call my team mates are amazing lads and unbelievable people. I’ve enjoyed the roller-coaster of emotions and the ups and downs. Hopefully many more to come.”
