Oxford United welcome Exeter City to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday looking to make it through to the FA Cup Third Round.
“It’s still a fantastic competition” Manager Karl Robinson told us today. “I remember watching the Cup as a kid and it didn’t matter if it was a giant-killing in the early rounds or someone winning the cup at Wembley, there were so many special moments and every club has those games that the fans still talk about.
“I’m not sure how many of the fans who backed us at Woking will be talking about the game itself for years to come but they will certainly talk about the rain and the conditions! Hopefully they also remember the hard work that we put in to get through that night.
“We don’t want that to go to waste on Saturday and we will be looking to progress. Exeter are a good side with a new Manager and it should be an entertaining match.
“We have had that rarity, a week with no midweek game, so we are rested and we trained really well today. We have had a punishing run of games really and have come through that group of matches unbeaten, so now we build towards Saturday and we do everything we can to make sure it’s our name in the hat for the next round.”
