Oxford United Under 18s have been drawn at home against Championship side Cardiff City in the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup, with the game being played at the Kassam Stadium.
The young U’s will welcome the Bluebirds to the Kassam on Tuesday the 10th of January, kick off at 7:45 PM.
It will be a great opportunity for members of Oxford United’s Academy to experience what a first team matchday feels like, and to play in front of a big crowd.
The U’s have played some fantastic football in the FA Youth Cup so far this season, beating Torquay United, Horndean United and Exeter City on the way to their Fourth Round Tie.
Academy Manager Stevie Kinniburgh told us
“We are really excited to have this opportunity, and it’s something we’ve been talking about for a while. These are the moments that can really inspire these young players. I still remember when I was that age and playing at big stadiums, the memories this will give the boys will last forever."
“We hope to see lots of Oxford fans there on a Tuesday night to help the boys get through to the next round against tough opposition. We play some exciting football and it’s a chance to see what the Club have been investing in to help build the future of Oxford United.”
