Oxford United were proud to host the first Oxford SEN schools tournament today with schools from across the region taking part in a full day of six-a side football
SEN schools provide education for children with a special educational need and we were delighted to welcome players from Swalcliffe, Iffley, Woodeaton, Chilworth, Chiltern Way, Wendover and Orion Schools to to the Oxford Sports Park.
The tournament was organised by Chilworth School teacher Andy Hemming who told us:
“It was a great opportunity for the students to come out and play some football and enjoy themselves away from the classroom. The facilities are fantastic, we were looked after really well and we’d like to thank Oxford United for their help in organising the day.”
Managing Director Niall McWilliams said:
“The Training Ground is for just this sort of day; local kids playing football and having a great time. John Mousinho and Matty Taylor popped in to see everyone, there were medals for the winners and I think everyone agreed that this was just the first of many of these days from now on.”
