Oxford United Women are targeting a win on the road when they travel to Cardiff City in the Women’s National League on Sunday.
The U’s will be looking for a repeat of their cup victory in South Wales in April, when they came up with a 1-0 win despite weeks of inactivity due to the curtailment of the league season.
TEAM NEWS
United have scored ten goals in their last two matches – they swept aside Swindon in the cup, winning 5-0, followed up by a 5-1-win last weekend against London Bees.
Rachel Panting scored two of the goals in that game and told us:
“It is a tough league, but we go into every single game wanting to get those three points and climb the table. Cardiff have been doing alright this season.
“We have built a fortress at home and we need to start playing like that in away games now. We have come away from away matches disappointed at not winning and we need to change that.”
THE OPPOSITION
Cardiff sit just one place behind Liam Gilbert’s side in the table having played a game more and are unbeaten in their last four matches.
The challenge for United is to take their impressive form at Court Place Farm with them on the road.
