Oxford United’s youngsters were once again in action on loan over the weekend as they continued to gain valuable experience in senior football.
Leon Chambers-Parillon made his debut for Gloucester City in Manager Lee Mansell’s first game in charge and played the full 90 minutes, coming as close as anyone to breaking the deadlock when he hit the bar in a 0-0 draw with Bradford Park Avenue.
Kie Plumley was unavailable through illness for Weston-super-Mare, but teammate Adam Smith made his league debut after scoring on his first cup start for Weston in midweek, helping Weston to a 3-1 win over Beaconsfield.
Ben Watt was unavailable for Stratford Town while waiting on the results of a close-proximity test, having come back negative on a lateral flow test, while Michael Elechi was on the bench for Chippenham in their 3-1 home defeat to Welling United.
United’s other young loanee Tyler Goodrham continues to do well at Hayes & Yeading, helping them continue their unbeaten start to the season as they extended their lead at the top of the Southern League Premier South with a 1-0 win at Dorchester Town.
