Oxford United came away with a clean sheet and a point as they drew 0-0 at Portman Road on Saturday.
For keeper Simon Eastwood a clean sheet is always a bonus as he told iFollow
“I think a point each was probably fair” he said. “Like I said before the game, this is the sort of place where you want to come and play football, a proper stadium and a big crowd and a lot of away fans. That always makes for a proper away day and you want to put on a good performance.
“I thought Ipswich dominated a lot of the second half and had more possession than us but we ground out a result and a point on the road is always good.
“We did well in the first half and looked just as likely to score as them. In the second we came under a bit more pressure but we stuck in there and made sure we got something out of the game.
“It’s a big week for us. We now move on to Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup and Wigan away next Saturday. It will be interesting to see what the Gaffer does with his team selection on Tuesday in between two big games in the league but we know we have a lot of lads ready to play if needed. That’s a big game and then we go to Wigan.
“It’s a lot of travelling this week but we are going to good grounds where we know there will be a decent atmosphere and whoever we play we are always going to be ready.”
