The Oxford United Academy have an exciting weekend ahead at all levels.
The under 18s, who have enjoyed a great season which saw them win their division of the Youth Alliance League, finish their league programme with a trip to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday in the Merit League while the Under 16s take on Bristol City.
Meanwhile four of the younger age groups will have a weekend to remember with the under 9s and 12s visiting Manchester United and the U13s and 14s travelling to Manchester City.
Academy Manager Dan Harris said
“What a great experience that is going to be for the young lads. I am sure they are looking forward to visiting two of the country’s great football clubs but we aren’t going all that way just to say we have been. There are matches to be played, we are representing Oxford United, and we want to give a good account of ourselves and hopefully win as many as we can.
“The under 18s have been outstanding and since the turn of the year we have seen a number of under 16s step up and get a taste of the football they will face week in week out as scholars next year.
"It’s always a good game against Bournemouth so that’s a really good way to end the league season before we play another interesting game next weekend against the Oxford University side.”
