Oxford United’s youngsters get a chance to shine tonight when they make the short journey to North Leigh for a pre-season friendly.
The game, against former United defender Eddie Odhiambo’s new look Millers side, will see a mix of players from the under 19 and 17 sides with Chris Hackett and Darren Purse in charge although Karl Robinson will also be in attendance to check on the progress of the scholars.
The game is in honour of United and North Leigh supporter Lloyd Calcutt, who died in January after contracting Covid-19 and Karl told us
“People like Lloyd are the heart and soul of our football club and it’s a privilege to be able to play a game in his memory. I’m sure a number of fans will go along to pay their respects and hopefully see a really good game, as well as see our youngsters playing against a good local side.”
Kick off is at 7.00pm and we will have reports on the official Twitter account @OUFCOfficial and a match report and Gallery at the final whistle.
