Oxford United have completed the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Mackenzie Chapman.
Mackenzie started out at Accrington Stanley from under 8s to under 11s before completing a move to Burnley where he remained until his scholarship.
He joined Manchester United for the first year of his scholarship before joining Oldham Athletic where he was back up keeper for the First Team for much of last season as well as making his senior debut.
He told us:
“Last season was great for me at Oldham being in and around the first team and then making my first team debut. It’s not easy for a young goalkeeper to get that experience but I enjoyed it.
"I came down to Oxford a couple of weeks ago and knew it was where I wanted to come next. Wayne Brown is a really good coach and Simon Eastwood and Jack Stevens have been great with me, really helpful.
“There are some good goalkeepers here already but we will work together each day, keep pushing each other on and it’s a really good opportunity for me, one I am determined to make the most of.”
