There is a familiar name at Oxford United as James Baldock joins the club as Club Doctor.
James is the older brother of Sam and George, who is now starring in the Premier League after becoming a fan favourite during his time at right-back with the U’s.
Karl Robinson told us
“I’ve known James a long long time; he comes from an amazing family and obviously has that sporting connection as well as his medical qualifications. He works in one of the Oxford hospitals and had been around the club for a while so when Rebecca Whiticar moved on this summer James was a great fit for us.
"I want to thank Becca who has been amazing and along with Amy Cranston and the medical team has really pushed that department forward, but we welcome James and look forward to working with him.”
James told iFollow
“I worked with Karl a little at MK Dons many years ago and have been made to feel very welcome here. Becca is still around for a while to help me settle in at what is a difficult time for everyone with the covid protocols. The club is first class in that respect and has done everything correctly. My role is to help where I can with that but also to offer medical advice to Amy and the medical team throughout the week and on matchdays.
“George told me what a great club it is and I am very excited to get started."
