Second Lockdown: Mental Health Tips

New Lockdown regulations come in to place today and this will represent a challenge for everyone.

At Oxford United we like to offer help and ideas to ensure that all players, staff and fans are given ways to cope with any challenge and during the first Lockdown we asked club Psychotherapist Gary Bloom to pass on weekly suggestions to help with the mental health side of wellbeing.

With the new rules now in place we asked Gary for any tips or ideas that he thought might help:

1.Lockdown won’t last forever.
It can be hard to do but always remember that this is temporary. Think about a time in the future when all this is over.

2)Don’t demand too much from yourself
It’s OK not to get as much done as you’d like during lockdown. Set a few achievable things. Don’t stress if you don’t manage them.

3)Limit Social media
We all want to find out as much as we can right now but try to limit your exposure to social media. It’s not helpful comparing yourself to anyone else.

4)We will be Reunited
One day we’ll be back at Grenoble Rd. We can’t wait to see you all soon. COYY
