Robinson Ready for Wembley Test

It’s all systems go for Wembley for Oxford United after the latest round of covid-19 tests once again came back negative.

That means that subject to one last test tomorrow United will be at full strength for the Sky Bet League 1 play-off final against Wycombe Wanderers as Head Coach Karl Robinson told iFollow earlier today.

“No new injuries, no suspensions and hopefully nobody is ruled out on medical grounds now, especially after the way we have looked after ourselves over the last few weeks. I think the shock of two positive tests early on made us all that little bit more aware and cautious and so far so good.

“You can’t let the situation affect your build up and you can’t worry about external issues that might have a massive effect.

"Can we train? Yes. Can we get food? Yes. Can we warm up properly? Yes. So can we prepare, do meetings in a certain way and do all the right things properly? The answer is yes to all those things. Since Lockdown we have challenged ourselves as a staff and dealt with all of the circumstances the best we possibly can.

“Two games in four days has set us up fitness wise and we have applied ourselves to the letter of the law. Everything that the EFL have asked of us we have done- we have not cut one corner and now we just look forward to the game on Monday.”
