001 Taxis were founded in 1977 by Tony Green after purchasing Evans Taxis, and also Luxicars at a later date, making them the largest fleet of private hire in Oxfordshire.
Tony's son Mark Green joined the business in 1988 at a time when most taxis were Ford Cortinas and an executive car was a Ford Granada! Such luxury.
Tony was a huge Oxford fan and a season ticket holder for over 50 years
001 Taxis continued to grow over the years and with advances in technology now has a state of the art booking app that features contactless payment, vehicle tracking, estimated fare plus loads of other features
They now have over 400 vehicles across Oxfordshire providing low cost transport for business, schools, airport runs and local journeys.
Tony sadly passed away earlier this year but 001 remain committed to continuing to provide a first class taxi service to Oxford and the whole of Oxfordshire under our new owners.
To thank customers for their support during 2020, 001 Taxis have abolished Christmas surcharges.
This means that using 001 Taxis on Christmas and Boxing Day this year will cost the same as any other regular day of the year.
