Oxford United look to get back to winning ways when they welcome Tranmere Rovers to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.
"I probably sound like a broken record but we have been playing well and we haven’t conceded many goals” Karl Robinson told iFollow earlier today. “People look at results and ask if it’s the system or whatever. It’s down to very small margins, not different personnel or tactics. Seven of the goals we have conceded this year have been from set plays; not first phase, but second so it’s not even the way we set up. Those are little things that the players know and we know about, but I am so proud of them all every day because if you know them then you know that people who work in this building or play for this team really care.
“In some ways that worried me this week because I know how much last Saturday’s game will have hurt them and I don’t think anyone came away from Fleetwood laughing or joking because it certainly wasn't funny. But we came back in with our full focus and the mentality of putting it right this weekend. We are confident in our performances but disappointed with our results and that only fuels the fire.
“I watch our games back more than anyone else and no team has outplayed us. We have played six of the teams in the top nine so we have had some difficult moments, but if we go and get six points in a week then we are suddenly sitting midtable after nine or ten games and then you can really focus on the next batch of fixtures.
“We have games coming up which will be difficult but we can’t sit here feeling sorry for ourselves. It’s a very long season and we showed tremendous calmness last year when it took us 13 or 14 games to truly find our feet and then if that season had lasted three or four more games then we might have made it to the play-offs.
“That just shows you that if you go on a run then anything can happen and we just have to make sure we keep doing things right and prepare properly for Tranmere on Saturday.”
