Oxford United head for Lincoln on Saturday looking to end the week on a high.
A win over Tranmere last Saturday was followed by a draw at Bolton in midweek and now Karl Robinson has his sights set on taking all three points away from Sincil Bank:
“If we get a win then seven points would be a good return for the week” he told iFollow “but all we can do is go and perform to the best of our abilities.
"We have learned a few lessons so far this season. I thought a draw was lucky at Bolton on Tuesday but when I watched the game back I was probably a bit harsh on my players because it was more about moments of madness really: we probably had more control than I first thought but I still think it’s right to give Bolton credit after all they have been through.
“But we got a clean sheet and we worked our socks off, as we always do.”
“They trained well today and will do that again on Friday I am sure. Since week two I think we have only lost one in six games and there are plenty of positives you can take from that. Granted we could be in a much better position but we just have to make sure we get something at the weekend and can then look forward to next week.”
With the Imps under caretaker leadership and their players looking to impress it perhaps makes United’s task that little bit harder, although Karl prefers to channel his energy in to making sure his own team is set up right.
“Those are little things that you have in the back of your mind but you just have to focus on your own preparations and performance.
“Lincoln are a good team and we know we are going to have a very difficult afternoon. But we had good news with Jamie Mackie and Shandon Baptiste training today and Elliott Moore hopefully training tomorrow as well so we are hoping that all three are back to strengthen us on Saturday.”
