PREVIEW: U18s Welcome AFC Bournemouth

Oxford United under 18s host AFC Bournemouth at Northcourt Road on Saturday in the Youth Alliance League (11am).

Fresh from the youngsters' excellent victory over Swindon Town midweek, the side gets set for a tough test against AFC Bournemouth who currently sit 2nd in the Youth Alliance League.

Slavi Spasov remains the only player sidelined through injury, whilst Viktor Milton made significant progress towards full match fitness midweek, coming through his first 90 minutes of football unscathed.

After scoring twice against local rivals Swindon during the week, Fabio Lopes told us:

“Obviously it was a big game against Swindon, being a derby game, and to score two goals was incredible. Bournemouth is always a hard game, but we’ve prepared well. We’ve been training well over the last couple of days and we’re really looking forward to it.”

Lead PDP coach Leon Blackmore-Such said:

“Bournemouth are always a tough game; they have a fantastic academy. They play a style that a lot of teams want to play, and they’ve got the players to do that. We’ll go in fully prepared, they’re games that we really enjoy, and I’m sure the boys will want to do well on Saturday.”
