There’s a new role in the backroom team at Oxford United for Eddie Denton who has become the club’s new Head of Performance Analysis.
Eddie, 25, has been with the U’s for the last four years and has the ideal pedigree; his father played for the U’s in the late 80s. The departure of Dan Bond and Ed Waldron means a new opportunity and an exciting new challenge, as he told us:
“First of all I want to thank the Manager, Tiger and all of the coaching staff for showing such faith in me. I have worked alongside them for a while as part of the recruitment, scouting and analysis teams and learned so much from all of them. The role will be to head up the analysis team, looking at our own data plus information on the opposition, and making sure that we continue to provide as much information as we can to help us win matches. We are rightly very proud of the work we do in the analysis department and we want to keep building it and keep progressing
“Having already worked with Bondy and Ed it has been a relatively straightforward transition and I’ve really enjoyed the last week or so.”
Karl Robinson told us
“Analysis is key in the modern game and Eddie is a fantastic appointment. He knows how we do things, he works extremely hard and he has a real attention to detail. The set up here is as good as you will get at this level and the commitment is there from top to bottom to keep improving in all departments.”
