There was a familiar face back at the training ground this afternoon as Malachi Napa returned back to the building for the first time since suffering a broken leg.
Malachi underwent surgery in August but has since started the first steps of his comeback back at the training ground this afternoon.
Still smiling, he told us: “It’s been great to see everyone’s support and I can’t thank the fans enough for their messages. It’s been a tough few weeks, but it’s given me a big lift to see everyone wishing me a speedy recovery.
“I’ve had the operation on my leg but I’ve started my rehab now and I know I’m in the best possible hands here. I’ll have to be patient but Amy Cranston and the medical team here are fantastic so I know they will do all they can to help me get back playing as soon as possible.
“It’s been a difficult year overcoming an infection before this, but I’ve got good people around me. I helped Shandon when he was recovering from his injuries, and he has been helping me out so far, as have all the players, so I’m feeling positive.”
