Youngsters Shine On Loan

It was another productive weekend for Oxford United’s loan stars with four of our under 23 side all gaining experience while out on loan.

Left back Kevin Berkoe joined forward Kyran Lofthouse across town at Oxford City in time for their FA Trophy game at home to Hornchurch and both played a full 90 minutes as the teams drew 1-1 to set up a replay.

Midfielder Aaron McCreadie also played a full 90 minutes on his debut for Hayes and Yeading who suffered the heartache of a 4-3 exit in the FA Trophy away at Salisbury with the winner coming in the fourth minute of added time.

Meanwhile midfielder Aaron Heap was on the mark in North Leigh’s 9-0 win at Woodcote in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.

Under 23s boss Chris Allen told us

”Other than Heapy it may not have been the positive results they were all wanting but they all played whole games and were all involved in the big moments so they are getting what they need out of their loans.

"Owen James also did well and got goals during his loan at Bracknell with the loan ending before the weekend and Owen now looking to finalise another loan to keep adding to his experience.”
