There has been a new face in the Oxford United Under 23 squad this week with Yoav Sade having joined the club.
Yoav grew up in Israel and played locally before joining Southend United as a schoolboy. He then returned home to continue his football career but now gets the chance to impress at Oxford.
“It’s a dream come true” the 19-year-old told us. “I have wanted to be a footballer since I was five or six so I am determined to make the most of my chance here. The players have been very welcoming this week. It has been very hard work but really enjoyable. The next step will be to go with the under 23 squad to Scotland for a training camp and then it is up to me to keep working, keep pressing and hopefully get a chance in the first team.”
Yoav joins fellow new boys Kevin Berkoe and Sam Allardyce in a new look under 23 set up which also features Academy graduates Owen James, Aaron Heap, Aaron McCreadie, Ryan Crooks and Max Harris.
