Oxford United's Under 23 and Under 18 squads travel to Scotland on Thursday for a training camp as their preparations for the new season continue.
With Kevin Berkoe, Sam Allardyce, Nico Jones and Fabio Lopes all away with Karl Robinson's first team squad in Portugal it is a chance for others to impress with a double session on Friday and Saturday before a lighter session on Sunday morning.
With the afternoon off that day it means the players will be heading to Ibrox to watch the first team's friendly fixture against Rangers – an excellent experience for the Academy players to be a part of.
A further training session will follow on the Monday, before the tour concludes with a match against Motherwell on Tuesday. The game will be a good test against a Scottish Premiership youth side.
Lead PDP coach Leon Blackmore-Such told us:
“We are really excited about it. The lads have been training well so far and we have a busy schedule planned. It will be good to test the players in a different environment and against a Scottish Premiership side. Taking them to the first team game at Rangers is an added bonus which we are looking forward to.”
