Fabio Lopes was on the mark with a double as Oxford United's under 23 side drew 2-2 with West Ham United in a friendly this afternoon.
With the first team in action against Millwall it was a chance for the U’s to look at their youngsters ahead of forthcoming games against Norwich City in the Leasing.com Trophy and Huddersfield Town in the Premier League Cup and Lopes took his opportunity with a well taken brace in a closely contested game.
Chris Allen told us:
"It's a big few weeks. We started very poorly and you have to learn from that because good sides will always punish you, but we came back in to it and and looked dangerous and Fabio, having been suspended for the oepning games of the season, has come back looking very sharp."
